Eczema and Lips

Toothpaste and things coming into contact with the lips can be troublesome for irritated and dry lips.   I used to have a big ring around my mouth for a few years until I learned that it was the toothpaste and the vaseline that was contributing to that problem for me.  Watch for lanolin in chap sticks, too, because that can aggravate eczema sometimes.   Using Biotene instead of toothpaste helped.  Even just the mechanics of brushing and water is enough to clean your teeth.

Lip Care

Try not to lick your lips when eating, because when food or drinks touched my lips, it burned.   You can drink with a straw to avoid getting the drinks on your lips.  Use a cloth to dry them when eating instead of licking them.   For years, I was always putting things on my lips to make them better.  It just seemed like they got worse.  Plain mineral oil (it's a lubricant you find in the laxative section) is inert, so it's a good bandaid.  Avoid toothpaste on the lips (you only need water to brush your teeth anyway), just eat good bacteria like yogurt or brush your teeth with yogurt.
