Dry Winter Skin

Putting oil on our skin dissolves our own natural sebum and signals our sebaceous glands to produce less oil. So, best thing to do here is eat more healthy oils like coconut, avocado, olive, flax, hemp, safflower, sunflower and red palm. I skip fish oils, because I think they may contribute to my eczema--remember that fish is on the top 3 list for aggravating eczema in adults. Then, I make sure i get zinc to help break down these oils and B-vitamins for proper functioning of the oil glands. Remember that probiotics help break down oils, too.

After that, just make sure you don't wash them away with hot soapy water. Think of what hot, soapy water does to dishes ... and avoid soap as much as possible.

Remember that antihistamines dry skin and so do coticosteroids and lotions.

See, also, why Dry Brushing helps.
