Some of my trouble was from careless use of household chemicals and lawn and garden chemicals. Before I developed severe full body eczema, I could smell the chemicals and they wouldn't bother me. When my skin was at its worst, just the smell of my dishwasher running would send me running. Detoxifying to reduce sensitivities works. I am no longer careless with chemicals and avoid the ones that bothered me the most like chlorine, car fumes, dishwasher soap. Avoid letting household chemicals touch the skin and don't breathe the fumes. Probiotics will help detoxify. Drinking water and greens and eating raw fruits and vegetables is helpful to cleanse the body. Herbs that can help detoxify the body are dandelion, garlic and green tea.
Detoxifying With Green Drinks
I learned from an M.D., N.D., Ph.D., after paying $200 for live blood cell analysis that one of the best way to detoxify is with green drinks. I told her that I didn't have a juicer. She said I could just use my blender, so I started blending kale (please see that kale link about how it helps atopic dermatitis and this link on kale, too) and parsley with water. I also mix a handful of parsley (I like Italian parsley), an apple and some carrots in a blender with water and drink that, too. I looked 10 years younger after three months time.
To clean vegetables, use 1 tablespoon of vinegar per gallon of water. Soak for 10 minutes to clean off pesticides. There are other things you can buy to clean them as well.

The liver is the cleanser and filter of the blood stream and is of vital importance. It is the largest organ in the body and has an enormous amount of blood flowing through it every minute of our lives. It is between 21 - 22.5 cm in its greatest diameter, 15 - 17.5cm in its greatest height and 10 - 12.5 cm in its depth, weighing around 1200 - 1600 gms
What are the functions of the liver?
• It is responsible for the production of bile which is stored in the gallbladder and released when required for the digestion of fats.
• The liver stores glucose in the form of glycogen which is converted back to glucose again when needed for energy.
• It also plays an important role in the metabolism of protein and fats. It stores the vitamins A, D, K, B12 and folate and synthesizes blood clotting factors.
• Another important role is as a detoxifier, breaking down or transforming substances like ammonia, metabolic waste, drugs, alcohol and chemicals, so that they can be excreted. These may also be referred to as "xenobiotic" chemicals. If we examine the liver under a microscope, we will see rows of liver cells separated by spaces which act like a filter or sieve, through which the blood stream flows. The liver filter is designed to remove toxic matter such as dead cells, microorganisms, chemicals, drugs and particulate debris from the blood stream. The liver filter is called the sinusoidal system, and contains specialized cells known as Kupffer cells which ingest and breakdown toxic matter.

Eczema
From a holistic point of view there is little difference in origin between psoriasis and eczema. A similar analysis and regimen is followed with one or two variations.
The Role of the Liver
The liver is the body’s main organ of filtration and purification. As the body becomes more toxic the stress on the liver increases, sometimes requiring detoxification of the liver in treatment of skin disease. Often, however, detoxifying the gut will render a separate liver detoxification regimen unnecessary. Sometimes doing a liver detoxification concurrently will hasten the clearing of the skin.
