What is Eczema?
Eczema is a term used to describe a number of skin conditions that commonly cause the skin to become inflamed, irritated or worse. Eczema, also known as dermatitis, irritates skin all over the body and is almost always itchy and often leaves the skin feeling dry, rough, flaky and extremely uncomfortable. And there is no cure. Affected areas may initially appear reddish before turning brown in some people and can affect skin pigmentation. Eczema can even lead to infection if not properly treated. Eczema is thought to be brought on by overactive responses by the immune system to unknown triggers.
Eczema affects more than 30% of the population and can be extremely common in young children and infants with more than 85% of those suffering from it under the age of 5 years old. While some children see the condition disappear by the age of 3, many people suffer throughout their lives. Although there is no cure for Eczema, it can be effectively controlled and treated with all-natural treatments and by avoiding irritants and allergens.
